TUR4all Travel, IMPULSA IGUALDAD’s travel agency specializing in accessible tourism and purpose-driven travel, was responsible for planning the itinerary and coordinating the tourism services for a promotional initiative showcasing the Camino de Santiago to the U.S. market. The initiative was developed in partnership with Turespaña —through the Spanish Tourism Office in Los Angeles— and Turismo de Galicia. Four international journalists with disabilities, all specializing in accessible tourism, took part in the experience and traveled along the Camino to discover it firsthand.
Planning an experience of this kind requires assessing every stage of the route individually: trail conditions, elevation changes, surfaces, rest areas, accommodations and the services available at each point along the way. This stage-by-stage assessment enabled TUR4all Travel to create an itinerary tailored to the accessibility requirements of each of the four journalists, whose needs differed from one another.

This detailed approach is precisely what defines the way TUR4all Travel works. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution to the entire journey, each section of the route, accommodation and service is assessed individually, and the travel experience is then tailored to the specific person who will be taking part. On a multi-day journey such as the Camino de Santiago, this level of detailed planning can make the difference between a route that can be traveled safely and confidently and one that cannot.
The result was an experience designed around verified accessibility criteria at every stage, enabling the journalists to travel the Camino de Santiago and later share their firsthand experience of the route with the U.S. travel market.
Through this initiative, TUR4all Travel demonstrates how a specialized travel agency can transform a destination of such significant cultural and spiritual value as the Camino de Santiago into an accessible travel experience that has been carefully verified and tailored to the real needs of the people traveling it.
